Fun Train 2022 Year End Update + Beyond!

My name is Douglas Nabors and I am the founder of Fun Train. I want to take a moment to update you on our work this past year and what you can expect from us in 2023.

Fun Train has been steadily growing thanks to you and others who share our passion for VR/MR. The tech is moving so rapidly that it makes my head spin sometimes, but we are partnered with many incredible development teams that always have their fingers on the pulse and their sights set on the future.

2022 was a very successful year for us with the launch of The Twilight Zone VR and the subsequent holiday updates. I hope you enjoyed it. We’ve also recently released a significant graphical update to The Exorcist Legion: VR, as well as a massive overhaul to Tarzan VR on Quest based on community suggestions. We also dropped the Tarzan price to $9.99 to make it affordable for as many players as possible and I hope you’ve had an opportunity to try it out.

Of course, we have also been hard at work producing Pocket Money Games’ highly anticipated follow up to The Exorcist: Legion VR

Safety in Numbers (SIN) has grown larger in ambition over the past year as we continue to build upon the tension and horror of the first game. Personally, I can’t wait for people to see the new avatars and the police precinct. As a reminder, this is a co-op game that will require you to watch your friend’s back and protect them (and hope they do the same). Although we planned to release it late this year, it’s just not in the cards (but it will be worth the wait). We now intend to release SIN in the 2nd half of 2023 after we’ve had ample time to ensure it is as unsettling, and fun, as we dream it can be. We’re not pulling any punches, and already TWO internal testers have complained it’s “too scary”. I always take that as a good sign ;).

In other platform news, The Twilight Zone will be coming to PSVR2 with our goal of a late Summer release and it will also be joining Tarzan and The Exorcist on the Pico platform. More on that as it develops.

We also have a new top-secret experience underway at Meta in The Twilight Zone franchise. You’ll hear more about that early next year as well as additional weird Twilight Zone stories. If you haven’t played The Twilight Zone yet, please do and let us know what you would like to see in future installments. Check it out here!

On the multiplayer front, our partners at VRMonkey are underway developing a new sci-fi title that we acquired earlier this year. Code-named “Black Knight”, we intend to develop this game relying heavily on community feedback throughout 2023. If you would like to be part of that journey I invite you to join our discord community to be ready when those invitations drop https://discord.gg/96QNh33hke.

Still yet to come, we are developing multiple mixed-reality titles based on existing franchises as well as some fresh IP. I’m personally enthralled by the possibilities of mixed-reality and I look forward to leaning heavily into this medium over the next several years. I feel it will change the game.

I’d like to give special thanks our external partners at Pocket Money, Splitverse, VR Monkey, Wolf & Wood, Stonepunk, & Imperial Dragons as well as our platform partners at Meta, Pico and Sony. I can’t say enough about our internal production management teams who keep Fun Train’s momentum barreling ahead.

That’s all for now! If you enjoy our new and updated games, please let us know in the user reviews.  Our team reads each of them and sometimes they’re just the feedback we need!

On behalf of Fun Train, we look forward to bringing you more incredible games next year. Best Wishes & Happy Holidays from all of us at Fun Train.
